How to apply for Reliance Industries Ltd rights issue

SEBI has allowed the process to subscribe to the rights issue of Reliance Industries to be slightly modified during the lockdown period.

The Registrar and Transfer Agent (RTA) of Reliance Industries Limited will check the eligible shareholders who hold the shares of the company as on the record date – 14 May 2020 and send the rights application form electronically to the email ID mapped in their demat account. 

The issue will be available between May 20th and June 3rd, 2020.

Rights Entitlements shall be credited to the respective demat accounts of Eligible Equity Shareholders before the Issue Opening Date only in dematerialised form. The rights entitlement ratio is 1 (one) equity share for every 15 (fifteen) equity shares held as on the record date.

Once the issue opens on May 20th, you will be able to visit the RTA’s website and directly pay for your application from your bank account using the RTA’s payment gateway.

Issue price is Rs.1257 per Rights Equity Share (including a premium of Rs. 1247 per Rights Equity Share). On Application, Investors will have to pay Rs. 314.25 per Rights Equity Share, which constitutes 25% of the Issue Price and the balance Rs. 942.75 per Rights Equity Share which constitutes 75% of the Issue Price, will have to be paid, one or more subsequent Call(s), as determined by the Board of the Company at its sole discretion, from time to time

The RTA will collect the following details on their website:

  1. DP ID & Client ID
  2. PAN 
  3. Bank account details
